For undergraduate, graduate, and research students as well as international and EU students who are not receiving a maintenance loan and have encountered unanticipated financial difficulties because of unanticipated circumstances, the Fund is available to give discretionary financial aid. The IHF should not be a student's primary source of assistance; rather, it should serve as a safety net for those in need of money like in the case of:

  • Unexpected short-term lodging expenses
  • Unexpected short-term expenses of sustenance
  • Unexpected one-time technological expenses for your research
  • Unexpected one-time travel expenses.

Eligibility for International Hardship Fund at the University of Greenwich:

  • The applicant must be an EU or international fee-paying student and not receiving a maintenance loan.
  • The applicant must be enrolled full-time at the University of Greenwich.
  • Applications from new entrants (year 0 or 1) won't be accepted until semester two.
  • BA, BEd, BSc, LLB, BEng, MEng, MMath, or postgraduate course is what the applicant should be pursuing.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in courses at one of our partner colleges or at one of the university's campuses such as Avery Hill, Medway Campus, or Greenwich, where the cost of tuition is paid to us directly.
  • The applicant must be able to provide proof that they have less than £500 in all of their bank accounts, both domestically and in the UK.
  • The applicant must have paid every fee.

Value of the Fund:

The maximum award is £1,000 per academic year.
