The Sony World Photography Awards are held annually by the World Photography Organisation.
- Professional competition: All entrants must be over 18. Photographers must submit a series of 5 to 10 images per category.
- Open competition: The competition is open to anyone. The Open competition rewards outstanding single images across ten categories.
- Youth competition: The competition is open to young photographers under 19-year-olds. Photographers can enter up to three of their best 2025 images, in any genre or style.
- Student competition: The competition is open to all students of photography from World Photography Organisation selected Universities. Students are required to submit five 5 - 10 images responding to a brief.
Entry fee: Entry is free.
Prizes:
- Professional competition: Photographer of the Year receives $25,000 (USD) and Sony digital imaging equipment. Category winners receive Sony digital imaging equipment.
- Open competition: Overall winner receives $5,000 (USD) and Sony digital imaging equipment. Category winners receive Sony digital imaging equipment.
- Youth competition: Youth Photographer of the Year receives Sony digital imaging equipment.
- Student competition: Overall winner receives Sony digital imaging equipment.
