These STAR Scholarships give undergraduate students from underprivileged backgrounds the chance to attend the University of Strathclyde. They are made possible by donations from alumni and a variety of outside organizations.
Eligibility for the STAR Scholarship at the University of Strathclyde:
Applicants must:
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an undergraduate degree at the University of Strathclyde.
- Be entering for the first time from a Scottish secondary school with low progression to HE.
- Reside in a postcode within the SIMD Quintile 1 (bottom 20% most deprived areas).
- Have received EMA or free school meals in the past three years.
- Provide a reference from their Head Teacher or designated staff member.
Value of the STAR Scholarship at the University of Strathclyde:
£1,500 per annum payable from the date the scholarship is awarded.
