Program Overview

The PRESTIJ program offers high-level scientific fellowships for young and experienced researchers, fostering Franco-Turkish bilateral cooperation in various fields. The program is open to all themes but prioritizes specific areas of collaboration as outlined by TÜBITAK.

Benefits and Funding

The scholarship includes a monthly allowance of €1704 for young researchers and €2055 for senior researchers, visa fee exemption, social security coverage, international flight (round-trip from Turkey to France in economy class), and transport to the place of stay covered (French airport to host site). The program also covers all necessary expenses during the research stay.

The PRESTIJ program is open to researchers in various fields, including agriculture and food industry, architecture, urban planning, arts, culture, design, fashion, biology, chemistry, communication, journalism, law, environment, earth sciences, computer science, languages, literature, management, finance, commerce, mathematics, physics, health, social professions, education sciences, engineering sciences, economic and political sciences, humanities, sports, tourism, hospitality, catering, transport, and logistics. The program is available for postdoctoral studies.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• PhD students or post-docs in their early career (0 to 5 years after PhD) currently working at a Turkish institution.
• Senior researchers (5 years after PhD) currently working at a Turkish institution.
• The program prioritizes applications related to Franco-Turkish bilateral cooperation thematic priorities as outlined by TÜBITAK for 2024/2025.

How to Apply

Candidates should send their applications by e-mail only to burslar@ifturquie.org. The application deadline is January 31, 2025, and the processing period ends on February 19, 2025. Announcements of results will be made via email only.

Selection Process

A selection committee, chaired by the SCAC, will choose the laureates based on scientific excellence, quality and expected impact of the research project, research theme, outlook for publications or co-publications, existing partnership between the 2 laboratories, and possibility of evolving towards an application to the PHC Bosphorus or European programs.
