Brief description:

Students from eligible countries who wish to undertake the Master of Public Policy program at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt, can apply for the Haniel Stipend Program. Up to 3 Stipends per year can be awarded. One of the Stipends per year is co-financed by the Klaus-Tschira-Foundation.

The Haniel Foundation is an educational foundation focusing on creating education opportunities, facilitating integration and supporting future leaders.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Haniel Stipends cover the costs of the tuition fees at the Brandt School for the 2-year study period, i.e. € 6,400, paid in 4 installments of € 1,600.

Eligibility:

Applicants for the Master of Public Policy program at the Brandt School should have the following qualifications:

• higher education entrance qualification (i.e. high school diploma, Abitur)
• college or university degree (i.e. Bachelor, Master, Diploma, state exam, etc.) with a minimum duration of 6 semesters, ideally in subjects from the social sciences, economics, or law
• professional work experience (minimum of one year)
• above-average grades or above-average professional performance
• analytical talent and pronounced interest in political problems
• very good English language proficiency.

Haniel Stipends are awarded to applicants who demonstrate exceptional accomplishment and intellectual promise. Applicants should identify themselves strongly with the ideals and the mission of the Haniel Foundation and show how their own personal path intertwines with the foundation’s credo.

Application instructions:

Those who wish to be considered for a Haniel Stipend have to submit their completed MPP online application no later than 31 May 2020. They have to indicate on their application that they want to apply for a Haniel Stipend and state their reasons and qualifications in their statement of purpose.

If they are admitted to the MPP program, they will receive an application form from the University for the Haniel Stipend which should be sent back to the University via e-mail within 2 weeks after receipt.
