There are a number of international fellowships open to students, researchers, and professionals for study, research, or professional undertaking at Universities, Institutions, and Organizations around the world. Fellowships can be towards academic, research, or professional development activities. Some fellowships are specific to a particular field of study or a target group.


 

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program (USA)
The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries throughout the world. The fellowship provides tuition fees, allowance, accident and health insurance, travel expenses, etc. Approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded annually.

Endeavor Executive Fellowships (Australia)
The Endeavour Executive Fellowship provides financial support towards professional development opportunities (1-4 months) for high achievers in business, industry, education or government for non-Australians and Australians. The fellowships include travel allowance, establishment allowance, monthly stipend, health and travel insurance.

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships (UK)
Commonwealth Professional Fellowships support mid-career professionals from developing Commonwealth countries to spend a period of time with a UK host organisation working in their field for a programme of professional development. Fellowships are typically three months but can be between one and six months in length, and can include limited time for attendance at short courses or conferences, as well as visits to other organisations.  The fellowship covers the living expenses for the Fellow as well as a return airfare to the UK and the visa application fee.

Eisenhower Fellowships (USA)
Eisenhower Fellowships seeks a diverse mix of applicants, ages 32-45, from a wide range of professional sectors. EF provides a unique leadership development opportunity for individuals who have a demonstrated track record of significant professional and community achievements and who seek to tackle big challenges in the future.  EF seeks ascendant leaders who are committed to making the world more peaceful, prosperous and just.

AAUW International Fellowships for Women (USA)
AAUW (formerly known as the American Association of University Women) awards International Fellowships for full-time study or research in the United States to women who are not United States citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate study at accredited institutions are supported. The scholarship values are $18,000 (Master’s/Professional Fellowship), $20,000 (Doctorate Fellowship) or  $30,000 (Postdoctoral Fellowship).

CIMO Doctoral Fellowships (Finland)
The CIMO Fellowships programme is open to young Doctoral level students and researchers from all countries and from all academic fields who wish to pursue their Doctorate (or Double Doctorate) at a Finnish university. The scholarship period may vary from 3 to 12 months and includes a monthly allowance.

World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program (Any Country)
The World Bank Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program awards fellowships of up to $25,000 annually for developing country PhD candidates to conduct innovative, development-related, doctoral research under the supervision of a research advisor at a host institution abroad through a residency period of 6 to 10 months.

Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowships for Women (Any Country)
The Faculty for the Future program, launched in 2004, awards fellowships to women from developing and emerging economies to pursue PhD or Post-doctorate studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at leading universities worldwide.  Faculty for the Future grants are based on actual costs for eligible expenses up to a maximum of USD 50,000 per year.

Rotary International Peace Fellowships (Thailand, USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Sweden)
Each year, Rotary selects up to 100 individuals from around the world to receive fully funded academic fellowships to pursue a Certificate Program or Masters Degree program related to peace and conflict resolution and prevention at one of the participating peace centers.  The Rotary Peace Fellowship includes: tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, internship/field study expenses.

UNESCO Fellowships Programme (Japan, China, Czech Republic, Poland, Korea, Russia)
The UNESCO Fellowship Programme aims to enhance the human resources and capacity-building of Member States, especially developing countries. The fellowships are towards specially tailored training and/or studies in fields under UNESCO programme priorities. The fellowship covers study or research related costs.
