Program Overview

Procope, since 1986, has encouraged research collaborations between German and French laboratories. It aims to develop high-quality scientific and technological exchanges by fostering new collaborations and the participation of young researchers.

Benefits and Funding

This program provides accommodation allowances ranging from 89 to 130€/day, as well as travel allowances between 235 and 400€ for the round trip. Transport and stay expenses are thus covered, allowing researchers to focus fully on their projects.

The fields of study covered are diverse: Agriculture - Food Industry, Architecture, Urban Planning and Land Management, Arts, Culture, Design and Fashion, Biology, Chemistry, Communication and Journalism, Law, Environment and Earth Sciences, Computer Science, Languages and Literature, Management, Finance and Commerce, Mathematics, Physics, Health and Social Professions, Education Sciences, Engineering Sciences, Economic and Political Sciences, Human and Social Sciences, Sports, Tourism, Hospitality and Catering, Transport and Logistics. The eligible levels of study are doctoral and post-doctoral.

Eligibility Criteria

The Procope program is reserved for young researchers working in higher education institutions or research institutes. There is no minimum age limit, but the emphasis is on the participation of young researchers.

How to Apply

Candidates must submit their projects by July 15, 2025. The selection process involves a separate scientific evaluation in both countries, followed by a joint decision by French and German authorities.

Selection Process

Eligible projects will undergo a separate scientific evaluation in France by the Delegation for European and International Affairs (DAEI) of MESR. The French and German authorities will then meet to compare the evaluations and decide on the funding of selected projects.
