The Housing Support Fund is provided by the University to address urgent student housing needs. If you are a current student threatened with homelessness owing to financial hardship, well-being reasons, or other circumstances beyond your control, you should apply for help.
Eligibility for the Housing Support Fund:
Applicants must:
- Be a currently registered student at the University of Strathclyde; and
- Demonstrate that receiving the fund will significantly support their ability to continue studies; and
- Have an urgent housing need that can be resolved through a fund award; and
- Be unable to meet immediate housing costs through existing financial resources.
Application Process:
- All eligible candidates must complete and submit the Application for Financial Support form.
- They must include all the relevant documents required to support the application.
Value of the Fund:
The level of award will be judged on a case to case basis. Awards are around £300-£500 and are intended to meet immediate short term housing need. Because of this the fund cannot be used to replace a regular income. Awards will normally be made in the form of a grant.
