The objective of the John J. Sweeney Scholarship is to support and encourage students with excellent academic merit and an outgoing personality to enroll to study at University.
Eligibility Criteria for the John J. Sweeney Scholarship:
- Be a US citizen.
- Have been offered and accepted a full-time place on one of the eligible MSc or LLM programs at Ulster University.
- Meet at least one of the following union-related criteria:
- Be a US union member, or
- Have a familial connection to a US union member (parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparent), or
- Provide a reference letter from a US union sponsor.
- Hold a minimum GPA of 2.8 (shown via degree certificate).

Value of the John J. Sweeney Scholarship:
The successful applicants of the John J. Sweeney Scholarship will receive an amount of $20,000.
