Eligibility Criteria:

This call is intended for doctoral students from the member units of the GIS (list attached) https://etudes-africaines.cnrs.fr/les-partenaires/

– The event must take place between 1st March 2026 and 28 February 2027

– Priority is given to conferences and colloquia with strong international recognition

Receive co-financing from their research unit

Funding Conditions:

The GIS African Studies co-finances missions for young researchers to attend scientific events abroad, up to a maximum of 500 € per mission (or 100 € maximum for conference registration fees)

Timeline:

  • 27 November 2025: Call opens and is disseminated to research units
  • 27 February 2026 (before midnight Paris time): Deadline for submitting applications
  • Early March 2026: The candidate, along with their affiliated team, will be notified of the funding decision.

Funding Conditions:

The beneficiary will have their mission established by their unit in accordance with applicable rules. Upon return, the beneficiary will submit copies of travel documents (transport tickets) and/or registration receipts for participation via videoconference to Kadiatou.Barry@cnrs.fr

Once the documents are received, the GIS will reimburse the research unit of the beneficiary.
