Description
Most outstanding performance in wind or brass as determined at the annual competition held by the School of Music.
The prize was first offered in 2017 as one of the Fifty $1,000 Alumni Friends Golden Jubilee Bursaries and is maintained by an annual donation from the O'Brien family, who are longstanding supporters of music in Brisbane.

Complete Application Form
All applications must be submitted to the School by 5pm, Monday 14th September, 2020.
Selection criteria
Heats Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 6pm-8pm, Nickson Room
Final Thursday 8th October 2020, 6pm-8pm, Nickson Room
Competition Rules:
- Heats- max 10 mins duration
- Finals- max 20 mins duration
- No more than 6 candidates to proceed from heats to finals in each competition
- Competitors to organise and self-fund any rehearsals with pianist prior to heats and final if required
- Winner (automatic) and runner up (by invitation) in each competition to perform in prize winner concert
