Job description:

Your Job:

  • Development of dynamic simulation models in Modelica
  • Verification and validation of simulation models
  • Further development of methods for automated generation of simulation models based on publicly available data (e.g. OpenStreetMap)
  • Integration of models into co-simulation platforms
  • Extension and maintenance of database systems
  • Supporting the development of model predictive control (MPC) algorithms
  • Supporting the development activities of model libraries
  • Supervision of student theses
  • Publication of the achieved results in professional journals

Your Profile:

  • Very well completed (Master`s) degree in mechanical engineering, energy technology, or comparable field
  • Experience with the development and validation of dynamic simulation models (ideally in the field of energy systems engineering)
  • Good knowledge of Modelica and Python
  • Ideally experience with GIS data formats, databases, and control technology (e.g. Model Predictive Control (MPC))
  • Agile way of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • High initiative and willingness to learn as well as good communication skills
  • Good written and spoken English, German language skills desired
  • A high degree of quality awareness and ability to think abstractly

The employment of doctoral researchers at Jülich is governed by a doctoral contract, which usually has a term of three years.
