Program Overview

The scholarship provides financial support, including a monthly allowance and, in some cases, travel expenses. It is designed for PhD students pursuing research stays in France during 2024. Priority is given to those engaged in joint or double-degree programs with French institutions or Ecole Doctorale.

The scholarship covers a monthly allowance and, in certain cases, travel costs to France. Selected candidates will also receive social security coverage and, subject to availability, access to university housing. Note that support is solely for the applicant; no arrangements are made for dependents or family members.

Eligible fields include Agriculture and food industry, Architecture, urban planning, Arts, Biology, Chemistry, Communication, Law, Environment, Computer science, Languages, Management, Mathematics, Physics, Health, Education sciences, Engineering, Economic and political sciences, Humanities, Sports, Tourism, Transport, and Logistics. Study levels must be at the Doctorate level.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must be Malaysian citizens under 35 years old in 2024. They should be new PhD students enrolled by September 2024 or current students in their first or second year (semester 1-4). The mobility period is flexible but must occur during semesters 1-5.

Required documents include an administrative form, valid ID/passport, CV (2 pages max), cover letter detailing motivation, research stay value, existing cooperation, and future career plans.

Selection Process

The selection committee evaluates applications based on academic excellence, PhD project relevance to bilateral collaboration, targeted institutions, professional perspectives, and the added value of French research. The Embassy's internal committee, comprising relevant field experts, conducts the assessment.
