The 2027 edition of the AZ Awards has been announced by AZURE Magazine. The international architecture and design competition showcases the world’s best projects, products and ideas.
The competition invites architects, designers and students from around the world to participate. It welcomes entries across architecture, interiors, landscape, urbanism and product design.
The best works will be awarded with the AZ Awards trophy, publication in print and online, and international exposure. The A+ Award for Student Work bestows a $5,000 CAD cash prize.
Launched by AZURE in 2011, the AZ Awards is recognized as a benchmark for excellence and innovation in the global design and architecture spheres. The program attracts entries from emerging and established firms worldwide.
The 2027 call is presented under the headline “Put Your Work on the Global Design Stage”. Categories announced for 2027 include Architecture, Interiors, Landscape Architecture, Urbanism, Products and Emerging Practices, with further subcategories detailed on the official website.
In recent editions, the competition has recognized excellence across 31 subcategories within 11 main themes, including Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interiors, Urban Design, Experiential Graphic Design, Concepts, Emerging, A+ Award for Student Work, Social Good and Environmental Leadership. Entries may also be considered for the Social Good Award and the Environmental Leadership Award in addition to the category in which they are submitted.
The AZ Awards is open to designers and design firms from all disciplines, architects and architectural firms, landscape architects, urban designers, developers, manufacturers, clients, and post-secondary students enrolled in design and architecture programs. Products must be prototyped or in production, and built work must have been completed within the past three years.
Each project is evaluated on its own merits according to four criteria: Aesthetics, Function, Creativity and Social and Environmental Responsibility. An international jury of architects, landscape architects and designers reviews the longlist and selects finalists and winners.
Longlisted entries are showcased online. Finalists and winners receive recognition in the print and digital editions of the annual AZ Awards issue of AZURE Magazine, global exposure through international media partners, and acknowledgement at the annual AZ Awards Gala in Toronto. Winners also receive a complimentary press kit distribution on v2com newswire.
