The Nature Writing Prize is organized by The Month, an international arts and literature magazine, based in Ireland.
The competition aims to encourage and celebrate the art of nature writing. It is awarded annually to unpublished pieces of prose or poetry which best combine exceptional literary merit with an exploration of the writers’ relationship with the natural world.
There is a 4,000 maximum word limit.
Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published.
The judge is Cal Flyn.
The entry fee is 15 € per entry.
Prizes
- 1st prize: 1,000 € and a week at Circle of Misse in France
- 2nd prize: 500 €
- 3rd prize: 250 €
