Eligibility:

You're eligible if you:

  • are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • are enrolled full-time in the first year of the Doctor of Medicine in the year of the award.

Selection criteria:

We'll consider: 

  • strength of cultural identity, community connection, leadership qualities, and commitment to giving back as evidenced by a community endorsement letter from a recognised Indigenous Authority included in the application
  • strength of personal statement included in the application outlining personal values, vision for Indigenous leadership in health, and commitment to contributing to community as a future doctor. 

About this scholarship:

Established in 2026 and maintained by an annual gift from Mark Crocker and Genevieve Graves. The purpose of the Scholarship is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander medical students at The University of Queensland who demonstrate strong cultural connection, leadership potential, and a commitment to improving health outcomes within their communities.
