Eligibility:
You're eligible if:
- you can demonstrate financial need;
- you are an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person; and
- you are enrolled in any coursework program at the University of Queensland.
Selection criteria:
We'll consider:
- demonstrated financial hardship;
- personal qualities, including leadership potential;
- academic ability; and
- any other matter considered relevant to your future academic success.
Preference will be given (in order of preference) to students studying:
- are from South-East Queensland;
- are enrolled in a Preferred Approved Program in the year of the award;
- have completed at least 16 units in an Approved Program.

This scholarship was established in 2025 by a gift from Port of Brisbane to support and empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students to access and succeed in their tertiary education at UQ.
