Eligibility:

You're eligible if you:

  • are a domestic student
  • are enrolled full-time in the first year of the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or an engineering integrated program or dual engineering program
  • are studying in the relevant field (see below)
  • have completed at least 12 units, but not more than 18 units, in your program
  • can demonstrate financial need
  • do not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean deems similar.

  • metallurgical engineering

Selection criteria:

We'll consider:

  • evidence of financial hardship
  • academic achievements
  • personal qualities including leadership potential, community service or engagement
  • any other matter that the selection committee considers to be relevant to your future success in the engineering profession. 

About this scholarship:

The scholarship was established in 2011 and maintained by the annual income from a bequest from the Estate of Sir James Foots AO, a former Chancellor of the University. Sir James Foots and his family previously supported the Sir James Foots Undergraduate Scholarships from 1999-2010.
