The Biozentrum PhD Fellowships in Switzerland are open to applicants from all nationalities. The Biozentrum, part of the Center for Molecular Life Sciences at the University of Basel, invites exceptionally talented, motivated, and passionate young researchers from around the globe to apply. Applications are open for the prestigious PhD fellowships offered through the Biozentrum Basel International PhD Program. Unlike general recruitment programs, the Biozentrum PhD Fellowships 2025 are awarded through a highly competitive process, selecting up to 10 candidates per year. These fellowships present an excellent opportunity for students to undertake doctoral research in Switzerland.

International students worldwide are encouraged to apply for the renowned Biozentrum PhD fellowships program. Sponsored by the Werner Siemens Foundation and the University of Basel, these fellowships aim to identify and support exceptionally talented graduate students in the Life Sciences. This European fellowship provides direct access to the PhD program at the Biozentrum, University of Basel, along with additional financial support, the option to choose a research group through a rotation system, and assistance for attending scientific meetings and courses during their PhD.

Selected candidates will benefit from rotation-based assignments in their chosen research groups and various incentives designed to foster scientific excellence and advance their careers as PhD scholars. Fellowship recipients will conduct research in at least two different laboratories at the Biozentrum through rotations, each lasting a minimum of two months. Upon completing these rotations and with the approval of the respective group leader, candidates can select their research group for their PhD thesis. This fellowship provides an exclusive opportunity for aspiring scientists to engage deeply with their research and develop their professional skills.
