The BlueCat TV Writing Competition 2026 is looking for the very best of television writing.

BlueCat has a long and distinguished history of discovering writers, introducing them to the film and television industry and launching their careers.

There will be two winners (Hour Pilot and Half-Hour Pilot), each will win $2,000 and will be introduced to over four hundred literary managers and agents. Every writer will receive a written analysis of their pilot!

All submissions must be original, and the sole property of the applicant(s).

Scripts, including outlines, treatments, pitches, log lines or any developmental material related to the script, that has previously won any contest, competition, grant, lab, fellowship, mentorship, reading or award of any kind, are not eligible.

Founded in 1998 by WGA writer Gordy Hoffman, BlueCat continues its mission of developing the undiscovered writer. BlueCat’s winners and finalists have gone on to sign with agencies including ICM, CAA, and WME, with their work sold to several major studios such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros., and Universal. BlueCat writers have won awards at Sundance, Berlin, and Tribeca all following their recognition with BlueCat.
