Being a ONE Global Activists offers you an opportunity to impact your community, country and the world on specific issues in development finance while working in a highly-visible, mission-driven ONE network. As part of the program, activists will receive training on how to campaign, lobby decision makers and engage the media in a compelling way. You will also have the opportunity to attend ONE events and put your skills into practice in meetings with high-level decision makers. You will have a chance to follow through a decision-making outcome until achieved. This volunteer program is ideal for people who are passionate about doing more to fight for a more just world, want to develop skills in advocacy and understanding of development finance, and are keen to join a global network of people speaking out for global justice.

Duties

Take high impact action 1-2 times per month by writing letters, delivering petition sighatures from ONE supporters to local MP offices, submitting Letters to the Editor to local news publications, making phone calls to elected officials, and/or tweeting at political leaders.
Participate in virtual and local meetings with your MP and/or their staff under the mentorship of Campaigns Manager.
Meet ONE staff and activists fram across the country at monthly virtual national training calls for updates on ONE’s campaigns, international development and global health news, and trainings.
Attend in-person events in your city – as able.

Eligibility for ONE Global Activists

To become a ONE Global Activist, you must have the following attributes:
Passion for creating change Interest in engaging policymakers on issues of relevance
Interest in enhancing their knowledge of development finance
Willingness to dedicate some time to raise awareness and mobilize different people to support ONE’s initiatives

Application

Applications must be submitted by Wednesday July 31, 2024. Program acceptances will be sent out by early August 2024.
