The call for entries to the C-IDEA Design Award 2027 has opened to designers from all parts of the world.
Organized by the International Design Educator Group (C-IDEA), the award is the world’s annual juried design competition, recognizing and promoting visionary talents across a wide array of fields ranging from communication design, industrial design, architecture, interior design, fashion design, and new media.
Winners receive a printable award certificate, the right to use the C-IDEA Design Award 2027 logo, opportunities for inclusion in the award yearbook and for international media coverage, and a free admission ticket to the award ceremony. Nominated designs are presented in an exhibition and the yearbook.
The award invites designers, design groups, design institutions and design college teachers, as well as students under 26 years old, from around the world.
Entries are accepted under two theme units, across 13 disciplines ranging from communication and product design to architecture, interior design, fashion and new media.
- Free Theme – open to all design works with different themes
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Future – works exploring the application of artificial intelligence in service design, green design, medical design, social design and related fields, submitted in any category
Entries are evaluated by a jury consisting of twenty countries with over thirty representatives from high-profile designers and educators, who assess each work on its commercial and artistic value, social use value, innovative performance, and theme expression.
Results are announced through an online preselection followed by juror voting, with nominees announced first and winners to follow; entrants are notified of outcomes by email. Each year’s results are announced during a ceremony hosted in a different country – ceremonies and accompanying events have so far been held in Germany, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Czech Republic, and China Taiwan, among others – with the exact timing of the 2027 ceremony notified to winners in advance.

C-IDEA Design Award 2027 – Entry Fees
Entry fees are charged in two phases: a participation fee paid with the entry, and a nomination fee charged only to entries selected by the online pre-selection jury.

Phase 1. Participation fee
- Early Bird (30 November 2026): €35 per entry for companies and professionals; the student’s first entry is free of charge, with €10 per additional entry.
- Regular (31 January 2027): €50 per entry for companies and professionals; the student’s first entry is free of charge, with €15 per additional entry.

Phase 2. Nomination Fee (Finalist)
- Student: the first entry’s nomination fee is free of charge; €50 per entry thereafter.
- Professional: €150 per entry.
- Company: €300 per entry.
