The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation awards the Georg Foster Research Award annually to outstanding scientists from developing and transition countries. The award is given in recognition of their scientific contributions throughout their careers and is funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. The award aims to support scientists who contribute to finding solutions to the challenges facing their societies and whose research contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
