Eligibility:

You're eligible to apply if you are:

  •  enrolled as a student at UQ in an undergraduate program administered by the School of Music.

Your composition must meet the conditions imposed for the year by the Head of School of Music. 

Selection criteria:

Eligible applicants must submit their completed composition by the date set by the Head of School of Music.

All completed compositions will be judged against the following criteria:

  1. musical effectiveness: how well musical resources are used to create an engaging, expressive and/or surprising musical result
  2. creativity: how individual and distinctive the music is, and how well new or individual ideas are realised
  3. technical achievement: how idiomatic the music for the instruments is, how clearly and professionally the score is presented.

About this scholarship:

Established in 2025 by a gift from Alumni Friends to honour the life of former member, Dr Pamela Reisner, and to support UQ School of Music students.
