Eligibility:

You’re eligible if you’re:

  • an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person;
  • studying full-time and onshore in Australia with proof of Aboriginality;
  • nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ; and
  • approved by industry partner/s. 

Successful applicants who meet eligibility will be granted an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Scholarship in addition to the top-up.

  • Disadvantaged and/or regional and remote areas
  • Students who demonstrate leadership potential in their community

You must be in receipt of or apply for and be awarded a living allowance scholarship of at least the Research Training Program rate to be eligible for this scholarship. You apply for this scholarship when you submit an application for an MPhil. You don't need to submit a separate scholarship application.

  • publication record
  • honours and awards
  • employment history.

A working knowledge of Indigenous land and cultural fire management would be of benefit to someone working on this project.

You will demonstrate academic achievement in the fields of ultural land management and the potential for scholastic success.

A background or knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocol is highly desirable.
