The Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE Ltd.) is an integral organisation for enhancing Australia’s and New Zealand’s capabilities in nuclear science, engineering, and related research fields by facilitating world-class research and education.
The Residential Student Scholarship (RSS) is for students who will need to stay at ANSTO facilities for a period averaging no less than 6 months per year.
Research topics must closely align with ANSTO’s research programmes: The Environment, Human Health, the Nuclear Fuel Cycle, Defence and Space Industries, and Fusion. In addition, opportunities may also exist for postgraduate students interested in fusion research that aligns with ANSTO and ITER activities.
Eligible students will be enrolled in an postgraduate research degree at an AINSE Member University and receiving an APA/RTP scholarship or equivalent.
The research project must require the use of ANSTO’s facilities and expertise for an average of 6 months per year.
To apply for the RSS Scholarship, contact your AINSE Councillor and establish a connection with an appropriate ANSTO co-supervisor on the instrument you will be using for your research.

Scholarship value : $7,500 per annum, in addition to up to A$5,000 per annum travel and accommodation allowance
