The Data Lab students will join the most extensive and innovative scholarship programme in Scotland. Following two successful years, The Data Lab will be expanding their MSc scholarship programme to 130 students for 2017/18.
The third cohort of MSc programmes include collaborations with 11 universities from across Scotland including Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Stirling and the West of Scotland.
Students will have the opportunity to complete a paid three-month industrial placement for their dissertation project. Through these projects, students get the chance to apply their learnt skills to life problems and get familiar with the working world.
As part of The Data Lab MSc, student’s receive additional technical and ‘business-ready’ skills training and we also run a year-long data competition for all students. This comprises a series of hackathons that allows students to apply their data science skills using real datasets from Scottish organisation.

* For students applying from the UK, according to the terms of the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), you are eligible to apply for a place if you have been living in Scotland for a continuous period of 3 years prior to 1 August 2017. Please not that this does not include residency for the purposes of study only.
The Data Lab is funding 130 places across the 11 participating universities during the 2017/18 academic year. Funding is provided by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC) and is channelled by The Data Lab to participating universities. Each programme has an allocated number of funded places, which will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis, so make sure you apply as early as possible.
