The Higher Education Research Experiences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (HERE at ORNL) provides research opportunities and associated activities for graduate students. The program is designed to complement academic programs by utilizing the unique resources of ORNL to enhance science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, encourage careers in science and technology, and improve scientific literacy, while at the same time contributing to the Laboratory mission. Applications are accepted and selections are made year-round, on a rolling basis as opportunities become available.

Discipline: Business, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM)

Eligibility: Applicants must: be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident be at least 18 years of age have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5/4.0 be currently enrolled in a master's or Ph.D. program at a U.S. accredited institution of higher education in a STEM field or related discipline have completed at least one term or be in a first term of a graduate program
