Betty Fletcher Memorial Travelling Scholarship
Description
The scholarship is intended to enable a meritorious student in Classics and Ancient History to travel for academic purposes in Greece, Italy, Asia Minor or any other place that was part of the civilisations of Rome or Ancient Greece, for a period of not less than 4 weeks.
Established in 1992 as a memorial to Betty Fletcher, foundation Patron of the Friends of Antiquity and generous benefactor of the Department of Classics and Ancient History. The Scholarship is maintained by an annual gift from the Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland, made on behalf of Friends of Antiquity.
Eligibility
The scholarship is open to any student enrolled in a course offered or program supervised by the School, who has not previously held the scholarship.

Selection criteria
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the applicant's academic record, personal qualities and commitment to one or more of the disciplines of classics and ancient history.
