The Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) is the leading independent philanthropy in the support of exchanging university students, scientists, and scholars between the United States and Belgium. Through its Exchange Fellowship Program, the BAEF offers numerous fellowships for Belgian citizens for graduate study or research in the U.S. The BAEF Fellowships are non-renewable grants for one academic year; up to $70,000 will be awarded for a Ph.D. (a $20,000 stipend and up to $50,000 for tuition and health insurance). Applicants should not have obtained their corresponding bachelor's degree before January 1, 2020. Fellows are expected to stay in the US for a full academic year (nine months) at a top university.

Eligibility: Applicants must: be Belgian citizens hold a bachelor's or master's degree at the time of activation of the fellowship submit official transcripts as evidence of an outstanding bachelor's or master's degree record submit an application to a Ph.D. program in the US have a good command of English and submit by November 15 a TOEFL iBT score of >100/120 or IELTS > 7.5/9 submit GRE test results of (VR>160, QR>160, AW>4.0) or equivalent graduate admission test results have obtained a bachelor's degree no earlier than January 1, 2020
